⚫Proof-of-Black (PoB)

The second experiment, a proof of burning.

The goal of Proof-of-Black (PoB) is to burn Red (255,0,0) + Green (0,255,0) + Blue (0,0,255) to create Black (0,0,0).

This is very similar to how PoW works, except players will be working in their respective Palette Clans in order to win.

In Proof-of-Black, users will burn their Base Colours, competing to accumulate the largest quantity of Black possible.

In order to blend 1 Black (0,0,0), players need to burn 1 Red (255,0,0), 1 Green (0,255,0), and 1 Blue (0,0,255) Palette Colours via the dApp to create Black (0,0,0). You will not receive the Black Palette Colour NFT upon burning; instead, it will be added to your Palette Clan's account.

The goal will be for the Palette Clan to accumulate as much Black NFTs as possible.

Proof-of-Black (PoB) lasts for 2 weeks.

At the end of the 2 week period, the Clan with the most Black (0,0,0) Palette Colour NFTs in their account will win a prize, distributed to each participating clan member. We will also distribute trophies for notable individual performances and participation awards.

At some point in the future, we may provide additional benefits for each person holding a PoB trophy and/or award (e.g. access to tools, additional benefits in Palette). We may also allow you to consume your Black(0,0,0) NFT to unlock a cool feature.

Will there be more PoBs in the future?

We may revisit Proof-of-Black at some point in the future, if there is a need to do so. We prefer to let the Palette DAO decide on topics such as this.
